care rooted in friendship.

Dog walking, overnight care, puppy care, and dog training — all rooted in friendship, love, and years of hands-on expertise.

the best friend blueprint

Our philosophy is simple: help dogs thrive and be a friend they can count on. Here’s how we put that into practice.

make every walk count

We balance exercise with time to sniff, explore, and engage their mind, tailoring each walk to your dog’s energy, abilities, and interests.

build real friendships

Groups of no more than four dogs are matched by temperament, energy, and social compatibility. One or two regular walkers learn your dog’s personality and quirks, helping trust and real friendships grow.

create a dependable rhythm

Consistent schedules, familiar routines, and a trusted circle of companions help dogs know what to expect. That dependable rhythm brings comfort and security to busy Hoboken lives.

bring out their best.

Exercise, enrichment, friendship, and routine work together to build confidence and emotional balance, helping your dog feel fulfilled, connected, and ready to thrive in the city.

a clear plan for life together.

  1. understand your dog

Your trainer considers temperament, learning history, and daily routines. We look at motivation and emotional responses to build on your dog’s strengths and understand what contributes to any challenges.

  2. build a practical plan

Together, you set clear goals. Your trainer builds a plan with reward-based exercises, consistent routines, and practical ways to manage difficult situations while your dog learns.

  3. put it into everyday practice

Learn to communicate clearly, set consistent boundaries, and reinforce the behavior you want. Practice on walks and at home brings those skills into the moments that matter.

Your trainer leads the assessment and training. During ongoing care, our team reinforces agreed skills where appropriate and within their abilities.

Aggression and complex concerns are matched to the trainer’s expertise, with specialist or veterinary input when the assessment calls for it.

Frequently asked questions

Wondering about something else?
We’re happy to talk it through.

Say hello
How does scheduling work?

We create a recurring schedule around your dog’s needs, with walks taking place within a two-hour arrival window. Once you’re part of the family, everything lives in one easy-to-use app! You can view your schedule, message our team, and keep up with your dog’s adventures through GPS tracking, photos, and updates.

How does payment work?

All billing and payments are handled securely through our app, so there’s no need to worry about cash or keeping track of invoices. We bill every two weeks, and you can review your charges and manage payments directly from your account. One less thing on your to-do list!

What is your cancellation policy?

We know plans change! We simply ask for at least 24 hours’ notice when canceling a scheduled walk. Cancellations made with less notice are charged at the regular rate, since we’ve already reserved that time for your dog. You can submit cancellation requests through our app.

Can I book occasional walks, or do I need a regular schedule?

We’re big believers in consistency! We ask families to commit to at least four walks per week and rely exclusively on Furever Friends for their dog’s regular professional walking and group care, rather than using additional walkers, daycares, or camps. This helps us maintain familiar routines, stable friendships, and a dependable experience for every dog.

Do you accept dogs with behavioral challenges?

Every dog has their quirks, and we understand that some need a little extra patience. We’re happy to discuss shyness, anxiety, and certain forms of leash reactivity. However, our walking groups cannot include dogs who display aggression toward people or other dogs. Please be upfront about any behavioral concerns or bite history so we can determine whether our walking service is a safe match.

Training and behavior-support inquiries are considered separately and matched to the trainer’s expertise.

Will my dog have the same walker every day?

We believe familiar faces make for happier, more confident dogs! Your dog will have a primary walker and a small circle of trusted team members who know their personality and routine. If their regular walker is unavailable, we’ll do our best to arrange care with someone they already know. Consistency is always our priority.

Which areas do you serve?

Hoboken and Weehawken are our primary service areas, from Hoboken’s brownstone blocks and waterfront to nearby Weehawken neighborhoods. We also offer limited availability in Downtown Jersey City and Jersey City Heights.

Our service-area ZIP codes include 07030, 07086, 07302, and 07307. Share your address and preferred schedule, and we’ll be happy to check coverage and availability.

Do you walk in bad weather?

A little rain never stopped a Hoboken dog! We walk in most weather, including rain and snow. However, extreme temperatures, severe storms, or dangerous sidewalk conditions may require us to adjust, shorten, or cancel a visit. We’ll always prioritize your dog’s safety and comfort.

Are your walkers experienced and insured?

Absolutely! Every walker is personally vetted and trained by our founder, who brings over 16 years of professional pet care experience. Our team members have hands-on experience caring for dogs, whether through ownership or professional pet care, and are trained in our Furever Friends safety protocols, from canine behavior and group management to navigating neighborhood sidewalks, street crossings, and waterfront routes. We’re fully insured, because your dog’s safety and your peace of mind are always our priorities.

Can I book overnight care as a new client?

Overnights are reserved for dogs already in our walking program. We stay in your home, where your dog has their own bed and routine, with a familiar member of the team. Each 24-hour stay includes four walks. Tell us your travel dates, and we’ll check availability.

Is cat sitting part of Furever Friends?

Yes. Furever Feline is our sister brand devoted to in-home cat care. Its visits and overnight options are shaped around cats, and you don’t need to be a dog-walking client to book. Visit Furever Feline to learn more and ask about availability in your neighborhood.

How do we get started?

It all starts with a hello! Fill out our new friend application and tell us a little about your dog. We’ll review your information, check availability, and arrange a meet and greet if we think we’re a good match. It’s a chance to get acquainted, answer questions, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before the first walk.
