our story
meet the founder
Will Ferman
Will studied film at the School of Visual Arts, but kept imagining a different kind of life, one spent working with the animals he’d always loved. So he left film school and began walking dogs in Hoboken.
There was no grand plan. Just the excitement of dogs waiting at the door, familiar streets, and friendships built one walk at a time. What started as a simple job became something much more meaningful: a life devoted to the animals who had given him so much.
One dog became another,
and a job became a life.
Over 16 years, Will went from walking dogs to leading teams, gaining experience in daycares and grooming salons, learning alongside trainers, and supporting rescues like The Sato Project and Muddy Paws.
But the most valuable lessons came from the dogs themselves. He learned to recognize the smallest changes in behavior, understand what they couldn’t say, and appreciate the personalities that made each one unique.
Because great care isn’t just about knowing dogs. It’s about truly knowing the dog in front of you.
Will’s love of storytelling never disappeared. It simply found a new subject.
Years of photographing the dogs in his care, combined with his instinct for canine behavior, earned him the coveted role of assistant photographer to The Dogist, becoming the only other photographer to shoot for him.
Working alongside The Dogist showed Will how passion becomes something lasting: through a distinct creative vision, exceptional standards, and the dedication to uphold them every day.
Those lessons would help shape the company he went on to build.

rooted in hoboken.
Will got to know Hoboken one dog walk at a time — from its brownstone-lined streets and breezy waterfront to familiar neighbors and the occasional tree that demanded a very thorough investigation. Over time, the walks became friendships, the streets became familiar, and this little city became home.
Furever Friends grew from that love for Hoboken and a dream of building something that truly belongs here. A trusted neighborhood team, a bright spot in every dog’s day, and a familiar part of local life for generations of pups to come. Not just a business in Hoboken, but a little piece of what makes it feel like home.
what a hoboken dog really needs.
For a dog, Hoboken is a world unfolding at sidewalk level. Familiar stoops, irresistible smells, waterfront paths, and friends around the corner. There’s plenty to explore, and it’s always better with someone they trust beside them.
That’s why we keep our circles small, our faces familiar, and our care personal. We nurture friendships, build confidence, and create steady, loving routines that help dogs feel at home in the world around them. Every dog deserves to feel like they belong.
Will left film school searching for his place in the world. He found it helping dogs find theirs.
Your dog has probably claimed half your camera roll, your favorite spot on the sofa, and a bigger piece of your heart than you ever expected.
After 16 years caring for dogs, I know what a privilege it is to be trusted with that love. I built Furever Friends to make life in Hoboken better for both of you — with friendship, adventure, and familiar faces for your dog, and the freedom to enjoy your day knowing they’re happy, loved, and in good hands.
a little more joy in their day.
a little more peace in yours.
let’s be furever friends.
A few sniffs, a few treats, and the first of many happy hellos.
